Empowering the Future Together
Reconnect • Reflect • Rebuild
Distinguished alumni, respected teachers, honoured guests, ladies and gentlemen,
Good afternoon.
It is with deep honour and a profound sense of responsibility that I stand before
you today as President of the Ipakodo Grammar School 1998 Set Alumni Association.
We gather not merely to reunite, but to reaffirm our shared identity, our collective
journey, and our commitment to the future of the institution that shaped us.
This reunion is a reminder that Ipakodo Grammar School is more than a place of
learning. It is a foundation — one that instilled in us discipline, resilience,
character, and a belief in excellence. Wherever life has taken us, these values
remain with us, guiding our choices and defining our impact.
Our theme for this year, “Empowering the Future Together: Reconnect, Reflect,
Rebuild,” speaks directly to our responsibility as alumni.
First, we Reconnect.
We reconnect with one another, with our teachers, and with the shared experiences
that formed us. Beyond the friendships and memories, this reconnection strengthens
our network, our unity, and our sense of belonging. It reminds us that our strength
lies not only in individual success, but in collective purpose.
Next, we Reflect.
We reflect on our beginnings and the journey since leaving these halls. We reflect
on the lessons learned — both inside and outside the classroom — and on the
challenges we have overcome. Reflection is essential, not for nostalgia, but for
clarity. It allows us to appreciate growth, recognize responsibility, and realign
our values with purpose.
Finally, we Rebuild.
Rebuilding does not suggest failure; it signifies progress. Every strong
institution must evolve to remain relevant. Rebuilding means investing in the
future of Ipakodo Grammar School by supporting the students who now occupy the
seats we once did. It means committing our time, experience, resources, and
networks to mentorship, infrastructure, academic excellence, and opportunity.
As alumni, we carry both privilege and responsibility. The world today demands
leadership, innovation, and collaboration. By standing together, we can ensure
that Ipakodo Grammar School continues to produce graduates who are prepared not
only to succeed, but to lead and serve with integrity.
As we celebrate this reunion, let us leave renewed in spirit, united in purpose,
and committed to action. Let us strengthen our bonds, honour our past, and actively
build a future worthy of our legacy.
On behalf of the Executive Council and the Reunion Committee, I welcome you warmly.
May this gathering inspire lasting impact and enduring unity.
Thank you.
God bless you, and God bless Ipakodo Grammar School.
